Rome is a historical drama depicting the period of history surrounding the violent transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire; a change driven by civil warfare between radical populares and conservative optimates, the decay of political institutions, and the actions of ambitious men and women.

The fourth season of the fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones premiered on April 6, 2014, on HBO. It is adapted primarily from the second half of A Storm of Swords, along with elements of A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons, all novels from the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin.

The series is set 97 years after a devastating nuclear war. The only survivors were residents of space stations orbiting the earth. The space stations banded together to form a massive one called “The Ark”. Resources are scarce and all crimes are punishable by death. 100 juvenile residents, convicted of what would have been relatively minor crimes and misdemeanors on pre-war Earth, are now considered “expendable” and are sent on a mission to test if Earth’s surface has become habitable again.

Season Five, also known as Day 5, of the television series 24 premiered on January 15, 2006 and aired its season finale on May 22, 2006. The Season Five storyline starts and ends at 7:00 a.m. – the same time frame as the previous season. It is widely considered to be the series’ most acclaimed season by fans and critics alike, scoring the show’s highest ratings and receiving twelve Primetime Emmy Award nominations with five wins, including Outstanding Drama Series.

[08] AUSCHWITZ THE NAZIS AND THE FINAL SOLUTION

Auschwitz: The Nazis and ‘The Final Solution’ is a BBC six-episode documentary film series presenting the story of Auschwitz. The series uses four principal elements: rarely seen contemporary color and monochrome film from archives, interviews with survivors such as Dario Gabbai and former Nazis such as Oskar Gröning, computer-generated reconstructions of long-demolished buildings as well as meticulously detailed and historically accurate re-enactments of meetings and other events. These are linked by modern footage of locations in and around the site of the Auschwitz camp.

[07] TERRA NOVA [Season 01]

The series is initially set in C.E. 2149, when overpopulation and declining air quality threatens all life on Earth. When scientists discover a temporal rift permitting human transmission they initiate a series of “pilgrimages” to a parallel “time stream” resembling Earth’s Cretaceous Period. The series focuses primarily on policeman James ‘Jim’ Shannon, his wife Elisabeth, and their three children Josh, Maddy, and Zoë, as they join the colony there, named “Terra Nova” for “New Earth” or “New World” in Latin and Portuguese.

[06] THE BIBLE [Mini Series]

The series covers “Genesis to Revelation” in “one grand narrative,” within five two-hour parts, each containing two or three biblical stories told through live action and computer-generated imagery. According to Burnett, it included “obvious” stories such as Noah’s Ark, the Exodus, and the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Five hours are taken from the Old Testament, five from the New. The series is based on the New International Version and the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible.

[05] RIPPER STREET [Season 01 & 02]

The story begins in April 1889, six months since the last Jack the Ripper killing, and in Whitechapel H Division is responsible for policing one and a quarter square miles of East London: a district with a population of 67,000 poor and dispossessed. The men of H Division had hunted the Ripper and failed to find him. When more women are murdered on the streets of Whitechapel, the police begin to wonder if the killer has returned.

[03] Band of Brothers [Mini Series]

The series fictionalizes the history of “Easy” Company (part of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division) from jump training in the US to the end of the war. All of the characters portrayed are based on actual members of Easy Company; some of them are recorded in interviews as preludes to each episode (their identities, however, are not revealed until the close of the finale).

[02] REVOLUTION 2012 [Season 01 & 02]

We lived in an electric world. We relied on it for everything. And then the power went out. Everything stopped working. We weren’t prepared. Fear and confusion led to panic. The lucky ones made it out of the cities. The government collapsed. Militias took over, controlling the food supply, and stockpiling weapons.

We still don’t know why the power went out. But we’re hopeful that someone will come and light the way.
